We Tested Granite Grip from BEHR

About the Author: Claudius Nan

I recently made a video about a product called BEHR Granite Grip, and I wanted to share why I made the video and what we discovered.

Granite Grip is an exterior decorative floor coating that claims to be slip-resistant and perfect for horizontal surfaces like garages, driveways, walkways, patios, porches, and pool decks. As a floor safety specialist, I was curious to test the product’s slip resistance and see if it met the industry standard.

In the video, I conducted a test on Granite Grip to see if it passed the ANSI A326.3 standard for dynamic coefficient of friction on exterior wet surfaces. Unfortunately, the product failed the test, which means it’s not recommended for installation on an exterior deck.

I wanted to share this information with viewers to help them make informed decisions when it comes to floor coatings and slip resistance. I also invited viewers to suggest other products they want us to test to see if they meet the ANSI A326.3 standards.

In conclusion, slip-resistance is crucial for the safety of anyone walking on horizontal surfaces. That’s why it’s important to test products before installation to ensure they meet the necessary safety standards. As a floor safety specialist, I’ll continue to test and share my findings with you to help you make the best choices for your needs.
